Sustainable Schools
Sustainable Schools
A sustainable school aims to prepare students for a lifetime of sustainable living through their teaching, their fabric and through the example of their daily practices.
A school built on the core principles of sustainable development will encourage care:
- Care for oneself – our health and wellbeing
- Care for each other – across cultures, distances and generations
- Care for the environment – near and far
Eco-Schools provide a great model for starting your journey to sustainability. Their website has resources and advice on how to get everyone at school involved.
There is more information about how to become a sustainable school and the eight sustainable schools doorways with contacts in each county council department for further advice and support to get your projects up and running at www.lincolnshire.gov.uk/sustainableschools
