SAGE – Supporting a Greener Environment

SAGEs are an ever growing network of workplace volunteers that help to embed more sustainable behaviour throughout Lincolnshire.  There are representatives at Lincolnshire County Council, all the district councils, Fire & Rescue, Lincolnshire Police and the NHS and PCT.

SAGEs are the ‘boots on the ground’ when it comes to promoting local awareness raising campaigns, from the annual Switch It Off week to one-offs like the Smarter Driving course.  We just couldn’t cover all the public-sector buildings in Lincolnshire without them!  They are also the local point of contact to answer your sustainability queries; such as what waste is recycled in your office, and how can I find out more about car-sharing to work?

Every member receives e-newsletters with some of the latest sustainability news, updates on current campaigns and top tips to suggest to colleagues.  In 2010 the first SAGE Conference was held to a large audience and was very well received.  Further sharing and networking events are planned to thank all the SAGEs for their important and valued work to promote sustainability.

If you would like to find out more about the SAGE network or have any ideas for future awareness campaigns or events please contact LCC’s sustainability team on sustainability@lincolnshire.gov.uk or your local sustainability officer.
