Food and Drink Sector Sustainable B2B Collaboration
SUSTAIN Lincolnshire is working with the University of Lincoln’s Holbeach Campus to encourage Food and Drink related SMEs to engage with the university and create a collaborative network of businesses.
The University has developed a structure by which knowledge on sustainability can be generated, communicated, demonstrated, adapted, shared and utilised by a group of SMEs in Lincolnshire.
This project builds on a network of food manufacturing SMEs and exemplars of resource efficiency that are to be found in the 300 food companies who know of the University. The campus’s resources of people, equipment and knowledge transfer will ensure that the project delivers the following benefits:
- Economic benefits
- Reduction in the cost of materials
- Reduction in the cost of processing waste
- Reducing cost of waste disposal
- Environmental benefits
- Safer food production
- Better resource utilisation
- Social benefits
- Develop cohesive food SME group
